A man that caused a drunken wrong way crash in Coral Springs on Wednesday morning last week has been successfully identified by Florida Highway Patrol authorities, as reported by CBS. They have even released his identity to the public.
The man became the victim of his own crime as he succumbed to injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after the collision by emergency medical technicians. He will not be needing a Miami drunk driving accident lawyer who in case you are wondering, could be found right here: http://accident.usattorneys.com/florida/.
The accident involving three vehicles occurred on the Sawgrass Expressway in Coral Springs at the intersection between Sample Road and Coral Ridge Drive, around 45 miles from Miami. The main cause of the accident was the decedent, 36 year old Harold Martinez.
According to police reports, Martinez entered Sawgrass Expressway and was travelling in a northerly direction in the southbound lanes. He ended up colliding head on with a Toyota Corolla driven by 56 year old Cesar Nunez. The latter’s car skid out of control and crashed into a third car driven by 18 year old Nicholas Cassell.
Cesar Nunez will be missed
Cassell escaped without any substantial injuries. Unfortunately, Martinez and Nunez suffered a fate far worse. They were both rushed to a nearby medical facility in critical condition. Martinez was pronounced dead shortly after being brought in. But he caused this mess. The sadness goes to Nunez and his family, he did not deserve this and his family will be calling Miami drunk driving accident attorneys very soon.
Police Major in Opa-locka facing DUI charges
We depend heavily on law enforcement to keep our streets safe. They are always on the lookout for offenders and drunk drivers, law enforcement officers see firsthand the kind of havoc drunk driving causes to public safety and how it rips American families apart.
They are entrusted with the responsibility to apprehend such offenders and keep them off the roads, but isn’t it scary when these same guys break the laws themselves? This is exactly what has happened in the case of Police Major Peter Cruz from the Opa-locka Police Department. Cruz has been with the force since 2013 despite having a plainly obvious troublesome past with the law himself, as reported by the Miami Herald.
Opa-locka Police Department are always picked at for being a department that will hire anybody, even a person with a criminal record can become a police officer, supposedly. It seems like Cruz bears testimony to such remarks about the department, he was arrested on Monday and charged with driving under the influence after he crashed his pickup truck issued by the city, in Avetura, around 16 miles from Miami.
Arresting officers have testified that when they confronted Cruz he seemed disoriented and confused, he apparently had slurry speech and red watery eyes. It is not clear at this point whether he has a drunken driving accident lawyer to represent him or if he will need to be appointed one by the state.
