Pittsburgh Boy Okay After Being Ejected in Drunk Driving Crash

Boy Suffers Minor Injury After Being Ejected from His Mother’s Vehicle
A 9-year-old Pittsburgh boy is doing fine despite being ejected from his mother’s vehicle in a drunk driving crash. TribLive.com reports that the accident occurred on December 24, 2017, on Route 28 around 3:40 p.m.
TribLive.com reports that a 41-year-old woman was driving in the southbound lanes with her two sons when she lost control and struck the center barrier.
The driver’s 9-year-old son was ejected from the vehicle and thrown 30 feet. Her 8-year-old son was thrown into the rear window with enough force to shatter it, TribLive.com reports. Surprisingly, all victims suffered only minor injuries.
According to U.S. News, the two children were sitting in the cargo area and were not properly restrained.
Police charged the child’s mother with suspicion of driving under the influence. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI and a bench warrant issued for a previous DUI charge, the Tribune Live reports.
