WREG News Channel 3 reports that a man driving a pickup truck hit an SUV carrying eight people head-on, causing the SUV to flip.
A deputy who was on-scene after the crash told WREG that he saw bodies everywhere and said some people had been ejected and others were crawling out of the wreckage.
One of the SUV’s occupants was killed and eight were injured. The driver of the pickup truck was also injured.
The 25-year-old who was killed worked as a nurse in the Trauma Center of the Sentara Norfolk General, according to WAYV.com.
Local police charged the pickup driver, a 24-year-old man from St. Louis with one count of vehicular homicide, eight counts of aggravated assault, reckless driving, and DUI.
