Fort Wayne Police Officer arrested for Drunk Driving in Wells County

Wane.com – A Fort Wayne police squad car was parked and still running on the side of the road and an officer was found to be asleep with his hand on his squad car’s computer. Soon thereafter, Wells County Sheriff’s deputies were transporting a Fort Wayne Police officer – whose blood alcohol content was at roughly .163-percent – to jail on drunk driving charges.

The officer is now facing 3 misdemeanor counts of operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of .15 percent or higher, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and having an open alcoholic beverage container during the operation of a motor vehicle.

The officer was booked into the Wells County Jail and released on his recognizance later, according to court records.
