Manassas police charged a 58-year old man with DUI-related counts after he hit three cars on I-66 on Sunday, November 12, 2017, around 4:30 a.m. According to WTOP, the alleged drunken driver was traveling in the westbound lanes of the interstate when he struck two vehicles.
WTOP reports that one of the cars overturned. The occupant of that vehicle suffered minor injuries.
The suspected drunken driver also hit a second vehicle, causing the victim to suffer fatal injuries. After striking the two cars, the driver took off and tried to exit the interstate.
One witness saw the alleged drunk driver after he left the scene and followed the man’s SUV until he stopped. The witness told WTOP that the accused drunken driver failed field sobriety tests.
Police charged the driver with DUI and a felony count of hit and run, according to NBC 4.
