Body Cam Footage from Cinnamison Police Department shows a New Jersey Republican being arrested for DUI

New Jersey Globe – Body camera footage from the Cinnaminson Police Department who arrested a Republican congressional candidate on charges of intoxicated driving proves the congressional candidate and his companion were asking the officer if they were arrested for money. After conducting three balance and eye-coordination tests, the officer determined the congressional candidate was not sober enough to drive and told the congressional candidate he would be taken to police headquarters for a breathalyzer test. As officers put on handcuffs, the congressional candidate insisted that he had not failed the field tests, blaming his lack of balance on the visibly strong wind.

According to the police report, the congressional candidate refused to take a breathalyzer test while in the police station, something not captured by body camera footage; the congressional candidate’s campaign claims he did so out of a fear he was being set up.

The congressional candidate has an unfortunate history of driving under the influence. At age 20, he hit and killed a 19-year-old while alcohol was still in his system, something for which he served jail time and which he has said he is still atoning for to this day.
